In our community, like yours, we have a few conservatives with a courage button.  One, a mother and homemaker, sits on our school board.  Her peers function as cheerleaders for the system’s administrators, but Mrs. Lisa Baldwin believes in the importance of oversight.  Persistently, she champions budgetary transparency, staff performance scrutiny, and other efforts to be careful with other people’s money.  More times than not, her efforts fail on a 6-1 vote and a heap of personal criticism.  Mrs. Baldwin, recognizing that habit and personal insults are the sanctuaries of immaturity, presses on.  Look around your community and you may find another leader who stands on principle over power, popularity, party or profit.  Give them your support.  Maybe you can become like them.  Country-club boards, commissions, and councils are corrupting America.  It’ll take more of those “6-1” type people to save it…
