If It’s OK There It’s OK Here

While my birddog “Pepper” pesters me with a never ending game of fetch, I’m pondering the possibility of revolution.     

It’s a personal belief our President, his Czars, party, and followers are dangerous.  Treating the Constitution as a curiosity one might find on the Antique Road Show is like taking a road trip without a roadmap.  Countries get lost the same way people do.

My rebellion is in the formative stage.  I’m mostly collecting discount coupons for food and ammo.  In my spare time I muse over an Obama birth certificate having more miscues than a UNC-A playoff game with Syracuse. 

One of my first steps will be requesting military assistance from China and Russia.  I’ve got time for diplomatic entreaties because a benevolent administration busily turning America into a socialist utopia wouldn’t use violence in response to my revolt.  Would they?  Heck, if I shifted from resistance through written word to weaponry, I’d have the longevity of a June bug in a chicken coop.

And so goes Syria.  People have decided they don’t like their leadership either and moved beyond coupons to actions.  Though their courage is admirable, we should not intervene. 

Vanity kings from both parties love to pretend America can police the world, but our inability to police our own borders demonstrates otherwise.  Ten years hard work in Iraq and Afghanistan is unraveling before our eyes.  The rampage of a mentally ill soldier turned murder mirrors the actions of political adventurers who sent him to that crazy place to begin with.  He’ll go to jail.  They’ll use sound bites to dodge accountability and retire with honors. 

By what right can America support an overseas revolt we wouldn’t tolerate at home?  Yes, Syria’s Assad is several notches higher up the despot scale than Obama, but my unprincipled Chinese and Russian allies are correct.  We have no more license to militarily aid rebellion against disliked leadership in Syria than I have license to attack ours.

Those who believe we should intervene are invited to go and join the fight.  Using our young soldiers as proxies is cowardly.  Before you join-up, review the results of our current administration’s recent policing foray into Libya.  We won. They got Sharia law. 

As Pepper continues to pester me with a tennis ball, I’ll continue to ponder armed rebellion.  And the mission of those black ops guys sneaking up my driveway...
