Hi, this is TheCandidConservative with today’s minute on lukewarm Christians…

The book of Revelation in the Bible offers a verse relevant to conservatives and liberals alike – “So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.” The message is that sitting on the fence, in a position of safety and appeasement, is neither wise nor realistic.  In a recent interview with Laura Ingraham, former President Jimmy Carter gave us a perfect example when he touted himself as being against abortion.  With denial so typical to those practicing the dark art of political opportunism, he took an abortion position with his party about as powerful as a bucket of warm spit.  His request?  That they “deemphasize abortion in the party platform.”  In other words, lets tone down the rhetoric to avoid alienating folks.  Sorry, Jimmy, it’s not possible to protect your party and the unborn at the same time.  But you did remind us of your talent for embracing that warm & fuzzy place between hot and cold.
