North Carolina has a long standing reputation as an unofficial sanctuary state for illegal aliens.  An organization there, Cape Fear Fire, is fighting hard to tarnish that ill-gotten standing.  Recently, Maureen Wilson, a representative of Cape Fear Fire sent an unusual letter to that state’s general assembly.  She requested action to prevent non-citizens from dominating legislative meetings on illegal immigration.  In NC, like other states, flooding hearings and maligning opponents of illegal immigration is a common strategy.  Most elected officials are moral cowards on the subject and afraid to take a stand.  Officials in Asheville, NC take a similar path.  Self-admitted illegals held a recent protest on Asheville’s public square and brazenly revealed their status without fear of enforcement.  When we replace the rule of law with rule by people and special interests, we’re accelerating the downgrading of America.  Our government does just that on a routine basis.
