The biggest difference in conservative and liberal love is not how much we care, but how we put love into action.  Liberals confuse enabling, which makes people weaker and dependent, with loving.  Conservatives like to give help that uplifts and creates independence, not vanity fixes for politicians and helpers.  One example of a guy who’s got the helping thing down is L.A.’s Jay Goldinger.  His mission is homelessness, but instead of fantasy programs that pretend to end it, his deal is real. Jay is having more success than anyone we know, and his approach has nothing to do with free housing, medical care, or addiction treatment.  His solution centers on three words – opportunity, responsibility, and contribution.  Incremental opportunities are tied directly to accountability and participants giving something back.  The result?  Fewer professional victims – more men and women standing on their own two feet.  That’s love-
