Death by Regulation (8-1-12)
Hi, this is TheCandidConservative with today’s minute on death by regulation...
If you want power, one good way to get it is to make yourself useful. Another way, the way of most big government advocates, is to pretend you’re useful. Uncle Sam’s regulatory efforts offer a good example of that model. History tells us government is always a step behind on regulating anything but the behavior of those already playing it straight. Regulatory bureaucrats have no track record of doing much more with crooks than using misbehavior as a call for more rules that our bureaucrats will also fail to enforce. Think the 2008 “too big to fail” Wall Street fiasco, Ponzi scheme artist Bernie Madoff, Pergrine’s missing 215 million, and the unfolding Libor scandal. Motion is not action – its distraction. The chief beneficiaries of our regulatory bureaucracy are big government and those employed by that bureaucracy. Timely and solid consequence for misbehavior cannot be replaced by more rules and government nannies.
I’m Dr. Carl Mumpower and you just spent a minute with a candid conservative…
