If you’re going to be good at lying, you have to start by lying to yourself and then practicing. That’s how child molesters, banking shysters, corrupt politicians, and other crooks are so often so convincing. They’re marketing a false reality they’ve already bought. There are other forces that make men do evil things – greed, addiction, anger, and vanity are high on the list. But have you ever considered another possibility?  Could evil be a product of evil? It seems a stretch to believe demons and other forces of darkness roam the earth making victims spit out green pea soup. But how else do you explain eating people’s faces and some of the other horrific things we do to our fellow man? It behooves us all to consider our enemies.  A belief in the forces of evil requires the same leap of faith that a belief in God requires. Our world is making it easier and easier to believe in the former.  Perhaps more and more urgent we embrace the latter.
